Meet Hanna and get an insight into what it's like to work as an SOS operator:Your everyday life as an SOS Operator at 112"One of the most fun things about this job is that no day is the same." You will encounter all kinds of people, questions, and problems. Your main task is to answer incoming calls from people in need. As an SOS operator, you respond to the emergency number 112 and are the first contact for those seeking help before other rescue resources arrive.
The 112 calls cover everything from acute medical cases, traffic accidents, fires, to calls where someone needs a reassuring voice. With interview support and adapted technology, you ensure that the right resources are sent to the right place at the right time. In ongoing calls, you collaborate with colleagues and external resources such as the police, fire service, and ambulance. The work is often conducted at a high pace, and those seeking help are always the focus. The work takes place at the SOS central where you sit in an open environment together with your colleagues.
TrainingTo provide the right conditions for success as an SOS operator 112, the employment begins with comprehensive training at our training unit in Kista, combined with practical training at the central where you have a mentor. Therefore, you need to be able to be away from home for occasional weeks as the training is conducted physically on-site in Kista. We cover all expenses related to travel to our training unit.

We assume that you always want to help the caller and manage the conversation from start to finish. You appreciate clear guidelines, are confident in yourself, and decisive - regardless of which call you are handling. The role involves collaboration with colleagues and external actors, which requires you to have good teamwork skills. You are a friendly and attentive person who finds it easy to talk to people. Furthermore, you are empathetic and professional, which means you collaborate and take responsibility in your professional role.
Since SOS Alarm's operations are conducted 24/7, as an SOS operator, you will have a round-the-clock position, which means you work days/evenings/nights and weekends. This means that you cannot choose whether you only wish to work days, evenings, or nights, as all shifts occur.
We want you to have
- At least three years of work experience
- Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
- Good knowledge of English, both spoken and written
- Good computer skills and enjoy working in various and complex systems
- Good multitasking ability as the work requires you to handle several tasks at the same time
- Have experience working irregular hours
- Have experience from healthcare, emergency services, alarm centers, or similar
- Are a nursing assistant or have other relevant experience

SOS Alarm conducts background checks and security assessments with register checks on its personnel according to the requirements of the security protection law (2018:585). A check according to the Act (1974:191) on security companies is also performed and is active during the employment period. A drug test without remarks is a prerequisite for employment. The position also involves military placement at SOS Alarm.
